# Harbingers of Light

Who We Are

The Harbingers of Light guild was founded in 1999 in Everquest. We are a gaming community built around friendship, shared stories, and the worlds we explore together. The core member group has progressed through many other games such as Dark Age of Camelot, World of Warcraft, and more.

The Five Pillars

Real Life Comes First

Family, health, career, and real obligations always outrank the game. We do not measure worth by attendance.

• There are no penalties for members who can’t make an event or raid. It is courteous, however, to let the leaders know if you can’t attend something you may be scheduled for.
• Take a break, go outside, touch grass.
• Self-care is more important than the game.

Respect Everyone

Drama burns communities down. Deal honestly, assume good intent, and treat guildmates and strangers with basic dignity.

• If you have a conflict, reach out to an officer in a private message. They may be able to help resolve it.
• Communication is important.
• Be kind.

Give Much, Take Little

Invest in your guildmates. Share the drop, help the new player, start the event, and leave the party stronger than you found it.

• Contribute to the guild! Add to the guild vault, participate in events! Get to know your fellow Harbingers.
• Your reputation and that of the guild is important. Be proud of the guild tag and remember that you carry it with you.
• No one owes you anything. When someone helps, they are giving part of their life. Be grateful, and pass it forward.

Words Matter

Our words both in- and out-of-game are important. Many of us have families nearby, and many of us have been gaming together for years. Keep the guild hall welcoming and your speech family-friendly in designated areas.
